Naik, Dr Jitendra lay foundation of IHAMP at Bhaderwah

DODA, DECEMBER 15:  Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region and Prime Minister Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh today laid foundation stone of Institute of High-Altitude Medicinal Plants (IHAMP) here at Bhaderwah.

The prestigious institute to be established at a cost of Rs 100 crore will act as a pioneering centre for the research of medicinal plants and also help the farmers in cultivation of medicinal plants in scientific ways.

It will work towards introduction of new technologies in the cultivation of local medicinal plants through intensive research, training and capacity building of the farmers.

Joint Secretary Ministry of AYUSH Government of India Roshan Jaggi, CEO National Medicinal Plants Board Ministry of AYUSH Government of India Dr. Tanuja M. Nesari, Ex MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar,  Director Indian Systems of Medicine J&K Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM/AYUSH) J&K Dr. Phuntsog Angchuk, Deputy Commissioner Doda Anshul Garg, SSP Doda Mohammad   Shabir Malik,  Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Dr. Ravi Kumar Bharti and other district officers were present on the occasion.

Later, Shripad Yesso Naik and Dr. Jitendra Singh also inaugurated special camp for registration under AYUSHMAN Bharat (PM-JAY). As many as 200 eligible beneficiaries were enrolled and were give Golden cards on the spot.
