Jammu, Dec 14: Police Friday arrested a man after 15 kg poppy was recovered from his truck on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district.
The apple-laden truck headed towards Punjab was intercepted by the police at a checkpoint near Cafeteria More, they said, adding that the poppy was recovered from beneath the driver’s seat.
The vehicle was seized and the driver– Salam Din of Maler Kotla, Punjab was arrested, they said.
A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police added.
