JAMMU DECEMBER 13: J&K SPCB Jammu in collaboration with Airport Authority of India (AM),   organized   a Public Hearing here at Belicharana Jammu for extension of Jammu Airport T, Runway.

At the outset, the participants were welcomed and   briefed about the salient features of the project.

Thereafter, the representatives along with the consultants of the Airport Authority of India dwelled on the project in detail. The stakeholders along with the general public of the adjoining areas of Satwari and Belicharana were present and actively participated in the proceedings of the Public Hearing.

The People of these areas raised certain issues regarding extension of Jammu Airport Runway, which was noted down by the Airport Authorities, Consultants and the district administration.

The issues and suggestions put forth by the general public and various stake holders were documented and recorded for onward submission to Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The Regional Director SPCB Jammu, Shally Ranjan and Divisional Officer SPCB   (South), Bader Hussain, along with his team were present in the Public Hearing.

The district administration Jammu was represented by Rashpal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner.    D. K. Gautam, Director, Airport, along with his team from AA1 were also listened to the concerns of the public/stakeholders.

The public hearing concluded with vote of thanks to the dignitaries and the participants.
