Tujar (Sopore), Dec 11: The final phase of panchayat elections witnessed no polling in Tujar block of Zaingair Sopore on Tuesday as two Sarpanch and one Panch candidates were elected unopposed.
Speaking to Kashmir Images Block Development Officer, Tujar block said: “No polling took place in Tujar block which has 206 wards for Panchs and 18 wards for Sarpanchs.
“Two Sarpanchs and one Panch were elected unopposed from Tujar Block,” he added.
Mohammad Sultan Mir was elected as Sarpanch for Sagipora ward, while as Ghulam Ahmad Ganaie got elected as Sarpanch for Zaloora B ward and his wife Khatooni Begum was elected Panch unopposed.
Meanwhile, poll-bound areas here observed complete Shutdown.
