Bandipora boy bags gold medal in WAKO

Bandipora, Dec 11: A 20-year-old boy of Bandipora district has bagged a gold medal in World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) held recently at Khudiram Kendra Indore Stadium Kolkata.

Vikas Bashir Lone, Son of Bashir Ahmad Lone, a resident of Ashtangoo village of the district is a member of Hyder Sports Academy (HSA) Bandipora. He represented HSA in WAKO at Kolkata and bagged a gold medal in the Championship.

“I am very happy with my performance and it is a very proud moment for me and my family,” says Vikas. “My family supported me at every stage and I am feeling very proud on behalf of my family.”

The championship was held at National level comprising of three fights each. The boy defeated all his three rivals including a boxer from Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
