CEC Kargil for sense of responsibility, morality to curb corruption

KARGIL, DECEMBER 09: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today said that renewed focus on the sense of responsibility, morality, and awareness can play key role in eradicating corruption from society to a great deal.

The CEC stated this while addressing a one-day conference on how to stop the menace of corruption Baroo here today. The conference was organized by the Youth Action Committee (YAC), Kargil in connection with the International Anti Corruption Day, 2018.

The CEC while congratulating YAC for having organized the conference said that it is the collective responsibility of all sections of society to make concerted efforts to curb corruption which hampers the socio-economic development of the people.

Feroz Khan said that eradication of corruption, holding of across the board accountability and promotion of transparency in the district is the priority of the Hill Council Kargil and all out support would be provided to curb corrupt elements besides giving awareness about the Right to Information Act (RTI) and anti corruption laws. The CEC reiterated that he wants to eliminate corruption and promote transparency in the district.

Meanwhile, speakers including Vice Chairman Religious Affairs Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Shakir, Member YAC Sheikh Nissar Hussain, District Social Welfare Officer Kargil Aga Syed Jamal, Assistant Professor Nassir Hussain Shabani, renowned Public Speaker Sajjad Hussain, Joint Secretary SEMOK, Kargil Javed Balkhani, poet Muhammad Yasin Ansari, retired ZEO Muhammad Iqbal Lone and President YAC Zakir Hussain in length about the ill effects of corruption and their ramifications.

The speakers highlighted the role of the people as well as the importance of education, ethics and morality, exposure of financial education and goal setting to students at schools and colleges, honesty and patriotism as key factors in getting rid of corruption and corrupt elements.

The representatives of IKMT, Kargil, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Kargil, SEMOK, Kargil, members of YAK besides the representatives of other religious and social organizations also attended the conference.
