Srinagar, Dec 04: Taking a cue from the altruists of  Iran and Turkey, a group of youth have set up “Wall of Kindness” with a philanthropic theme “take if you need, hang if you have” for the poor section of society who lack necessary clothes for this winter season in Abi-Guzar area of Srinagar city.

“Apart from inculcating a sense of giving, the motive behind the concept of “Wall of Kindness” is that the underprivileged persons of our society can take the necessary clothes without letting anybody to know about it. They will not have to beg for the necessary clothes to beat the winter cold,” says Sadaf Firdous Baba, who is part of this initiative.

“We are looking forward to make this initiative successful in Kashmir. Those who want to donate clothes for the needy people can hang them here at the wall and those who need them can take them according to their convenience,” Abrar Ali Wani, a representative of Whoishussain.org told Kashmir Images.

The organizers said that people of Kashmir have a huge potential for such donations and they want the people of other districts to join them to broaden the scope of this initiative.

“We want this initiative to take a permanent shape in our social fabric for which we appeal the youth from across Kashmir to identify locations at their respective areas for setting up similar walls,” they added.
