Tata mobile vehicle with illicit timber seized in Baramulla

Baramulla: A Tata Mobile carrying illegal timber worth lakhs of rupees was seized from Kanispora area of Baramulla district during an operation conducted by forest department on Thursday.

According to DFO JV Baramulla Pervaz Ahmad Wani on a specific information staff of forest control room Baramulla under his supervision laid naka at Jahama-Kanispora crossing Baramulla during intervening night of Thursday (22/11/2018).

“Consequently illegal timber which was being carried from Juhama-Kanispora crossing area of Baramulla in a four wheeler vehicle (Tata mobile) bearing Registration Number-JK01Q 1157 was seized”, the official said.

“The Tata mobile was carrying 85.97cfts of illegal timber , DFO JV division Baramulla Pervaz Ahmad Wani added that taking the advantage of darkness driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.

A case in this regard has been registered in police station Baramulla, besides special investigation team (SIT) headed by Rang Officer Boniyar has been constituted for its detailed investigation.

Further DFO JV added that such operations will continue and not even a single smuggler will be spared and all the necessary actions warranted under the forest act would be taken strictly against who so ever will be Responsible for any type of damage to the forests.
