FOIJ delegation calls on Advisor Sharma

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 22:  A delegation of Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ) today met Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma and sought early redressal of their issues.

Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Shailendra Kumar was also present during the meeting.

The delegation led by its Chairman, Lalit Mahajan submitted their memorandum of demands pertaining to employment clause for the reimbursement incentives of State Budgetary Support to Industrial Units of J&K, present State Fiscal Incentives compare to pre GST Regime for Micro and Small Scale Sector of the State, extension of Power Amnesty Scheme, extension of State Fiscal Incentives to New Units and Units under Substantial Expansion, extension of Central Government Fiscal Incentives at par with the North Eastern States for existing units , units under substantial expansion and new units.

The members of the delegation draw the attention of the Advisor towards the difficulties they are facing to achieve the 90% employment to the permanent residents of J&K as per Government order keeping in view the non-availability of the specialized or skilled labour in the state for a particular industry like Pharma, Cement, Steel and many alike.

They urged for the re-examination of 90:10 Labour Clause to provide the relaxation to some particular industries for which trained skilled labour is not available in the state. They also requested the intervention of the Advisor in to the matters regarding the grant of the incentives to the existing Micro and Small-Scale Units of the state under different heads.

The Advisor assured the delegation that all their genuine concerns will be taken up on priority and said that necessary measures will be taken after a detailed assessment of the issues put forth by them. He asked them to consider the suggestion of training local labour from the state for specialized and skilled work.
