Drabu’s speech cost him dearly: Omar
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Nov 17: National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah on Saturday described the killing of a youth by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district as deeply disturbing, saying there can be no justification for such an act.

“The cold blooded murder of an 11th standard student by the Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for this act & should force those who sympathise with these outfits to question how these murders make Kashmir a better, freer place,” Omar posted on Twitter.

The former chief minister was reacting to the abduction and killing of Nadeem Manzoor — reportedly a Class XI student — by the militants on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday at Nikloora in Pulwama, police had said.

Meanwhile, condemning the abduction and killing of two youth by “unknown gunmen” in Shopian, senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf  Tarigami Saturday termed these incidents as heinous which should be condemned by one and all.

In a statement issued here today Tarigami said “such incidents are senseless and painful and the perpetrators of violence have achieved nothing except for inflicting irreparable loss on the families of those killed.”

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved families, the CPI(M) leader conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
