City Masjids to get 45000 qtls firewood during winter season

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 06: Forest Department has started supply of firewood to around 1300 Masjids of Srinagar city from November 01 on subsidized rates for which the Department has already stocked 45,000 quintals firewood at P.C. Depot Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Chief Conservator Forests (CCF), Kashmir, Farooq Gillani paid a visit to the P.C. Depot and took stock of the firewood supplies for Masjids of Srinagar City.

DFO Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar informed CCF Kashmir that besides Masjids about 10,000 quintals of firewood is being supplied to the artisan of Kashmir like paper machie and khatamband unitholders.

In addition to this about 3000 quintals of firewood has already been supplied for other religious purposes during this season. As many as 4200 quintals of firewood have already been dispatched to Ladakh region through State Forest Corporation.

The CCF was accompanied by Conservator of Forests/ DFOs of the Department during the visit.
