Pakistan Cricket team under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed registered their 11th successive T20I series win. The number one ranked T20I team won back to back games against New Zealand to clinch the series with one game to go on Sunday (November 4). Winning the toss, the Kiwis scored 154 batting first. Shaheen Afridi was the chief destroyer with the ball taking 3 for 20 to limit them to a mediocre total. Babar Azam, then played a responsible knock of 40 to help Pakistan achieve a unique feat in international cricket.

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to congratulate the team. Afridi, who has constantly been backing Pakistan’s brilliant all-around performances, once again took to Twitter to show his appreciation for the national team. He wrote, “100% results for this 100% T20I team! Congratulations Sarfraz, Mickey all players and management. Special praise for young Shaheen Afridi great find, all in all a total team effort, Pakistan is proud of you. Keep up the good work #PAKvNZ”.

This Pakistan team under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed has been scaling new heights in international cricket ever since their Champions Trophy triumph last year in June. The final against India turned out to be the breakthrough game for someone like Farkhar Zaman, who has since then become a household name in international cricket. Before this series against New Zealand, Pakistan hosted Australia in the UAE, which was another memorable series for them. They romped through the Men in Yellow as they made Australia return winless in the series without the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner.

Pakistan, after the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, will host them for a three-match ODI and Test series respectively.  Interestingly, Mohammad Hafeez who wasn’t included for the T20Is against Pakistan, fittingly hit the winning runs for his side as he scored an unbeaten 34.
