Srinagar, November 2, 2018: All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders and activists today held peaceful protests after congregational Friday prayers in Hyderpora against the human rights violations and continuous house detention of Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, a statement issued by a spokesman said.

“Voicing serious concern over the spree of killings, atrocities and arrests, leaders demanded immediate halt on innocent killings and appealed world human rights organization for their cognizance and impressed to raise their voice and come to the rescue of people in Kashmir, the statement said.

While demanding the immediate release of all political prisoners including leaders lodged in and outside state particularly in Tihar Jail, Hurriyat leaders said that by pushing people to wall India will achieve nothing.

Meanwhile, JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest at Lal Chowk against “human rights violations in Kashmir,” a party spokesman said in a statement issued today.

The spokesman said that various leaders and activists of JKLF today gathered at Madina Chowk Lal Chowk  and staged a peaceful protest against ‘unabated Killings, spree of arrests, burning, blasting, vandalizing residential houses, beating and humiliating men, women and children and other oppressive measures.’

JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in a separate statement alleged that forces have been given a ‘free hand to slaughter.’
