Sopore:  Government forces on Sunday morning launched a cordon-and-search operation in Sopore Village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to reports, a joint team of army’s 22 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a search operation at Zaloora village outskirt of Sopore town early morning today.

SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal confirmed the development and said, following the inputs about the militants movement in the area that operation was launched.

Reports also said, forces have sealed all points leading to the village and have start door to door search operation.

Meanwhile, clashes have started between forces and youths in the area, the forces have retaliated with tear gas shelling towards the protesters which were going on when this report was filed.
