“The dispensary is operating since a decade in our village but on internal adjustment basis,” said a local adding that a pharmacist and a doctor is working at the dispensary but it lacks basic facilities like first-aid.

An Aquaf member, Bashir Ahmad, of the Mughalpora village said that the dispensary has not been fenced and no drinking water and toilet facility is available at the dispensary. “In absence of first-aid facility here, one needs to visit the district hospital Pulwama even for treating minor cut injuries,” he added.

Resident of village said that they have highlighted the issue with higher authorities many times. “We demand that a permanent medical officer, a nurse and a sweeper should be posted at the dispensary to ensure its smooth functioning,” they added.

When contacted concerned ISM officer, Dr. Zubair Ahmad Shah, Pulwama he said: “I will apprise the higher authorities in this regard.”
