Maintain quality stock supply to Ladakh region: Samoon

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 25: Principal Secretary Transport, Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today convened a meeting to review stocking of essential commodities required for the animal, sheep and poultry in Ladakh region.

During the meeting, Samoon was apprised by the officials from Leh and Kargil districts about the stock position of the essential commodities required for the animal, sheep and poultry in the region. He was informed that SICOP has dumped almost 95% of the commodities and will touch the cent percent target within a few days. He was further informed that the target for cattle, poultry feed in both districts is already accomplished, while as medicines, vaccines, eggs, Day One Chicks and other related products have been stocked.

He directed for speedy stocking and dumping of essentials across Ladakh region, keeping in view difficult topography and approaching harsh weather of the region. He was briefed about the status of the present supply lying with the district administrations.

Taking strong note of complaint about the distribution of substandard medicines, Samoon directed the concerned officials to double check the quality of the medicine and feed for the animals and poultry. He warned of strict action against concerned officials and suppliers, if anyone is found guilty of distributing of substandard medicine.

Managing Director, SRTC, Dr Manmohan Singh, Managing Director, SICOP, R L Ticku, Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir Dr Mohammad Yusuf Chaproo, besides senior officers of CAPD, Finance, Animal / Sheep husbandry Departments also attended the meeting. Officers from Leh and Kargil attended the meeting through video conferencing.
