“Last week my daughter fell ill and I had to take her to sub-district hospital, which is 6 kms away from our village, Sopore for the treatment,” said Ali Mohammad, a resident of Dangerpora.

Nazir Ahmad Khan, who owns the land on which the PHC has been constructed, told Kashmir Images that he has locked the PHC and will not be allowing the authorities to execute the further construction work. “I am yet to receive the compensation for my land which I provided for the construction of PHC at Dangerpora village and I have been requesting the authorities to release the compensation amount in my favour from a longtime now, but to no avail,” he added.

When contacted Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, he said: “We are hopeful that pending funds meant for further construction of PHC will be release very soon.

“The cost for the construction of PHC at Dangerpora has been estimated as one crore sixty eight lacs but only one crore fourteen lac rupees has been released so far,” the CMO added.
