World Food Day observed at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 16: District Administration Bandipora today celebrated World Food Day in collaboration with Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department. The theme of the world Food Day celebrated worldwide is “OUR ACTIONS ARE OUR FUTURE” a zero-hunger world by 2030 is possible.

The World Food Day also known as World Food Engineering Day is observed on October, 16 every year in more than 150 countries around the world to commemorate the founding of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and to create mass awareness among the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, highlighted the importance of sustainable food production and responsible consumption by humans. He said that society is going to be self-sufficient in food production in near future, however people should work together to enhance the quality and availability of food resources.

The programme was attended by the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Food safety, Legal metrology, Education besides the students from various schools.
