Er. Rasheed visits encounter site at Shartgund Bala, alleges forces of vandalizing property

Langate, October 13: AIP President Er. Rasheed today Saturday the encounter site at Shartgund Bala village and adjoining areas where the scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani and his associate Aashiq Zargar Rasheed were killed in a gunfight on Thursday.

While expressing sympathy with those, whose property was damaged during the encounter; Er. Rasheed assured them of all possible help. “Er. Rasheed condemned use of force against civilians and accused forces of crossing all the limits. He questioned state DGP and Army top brasses who always talk of showing restrain. He sought stern action against those who picked up a youth namely Mudasir Ahmad Beigh Son of Sonaullah Beigh, resident of Jahama, handcuffed him and then mercilessly fired bullet in his leg in presence of dozens of witnesses. Similarly dozens were injured and the window pans and other property were damaged in Shartgund Bala, Teerina, Prungroo and Qalamabad areas. He also condemned Handwara Police for detaining around forty youth hailing from different areas, who were on way to Lolab to attend the last rites of Manan Wani,” reads a AIP statement emailed to Kashmir Images on Saturday.

Er. Rasheed on the occasion while reiterating unity among masses added that there is no substitute to right to self determination and it is the only road that leads to peace.

He challenged those making hue and cry to protect cows to initiate action against those who proved brutal not to humans only but to cows also and asked them to answer that if they don’t treat Kashmiri cow pious.

Er. Rasheed also condemned the continuous harassment of Kashmiri students outside J&K especially in Aligarh Muslim University and said that party will carry a peaceful march in Srinagar tomorrow against harassment of Kashmiri students and their suspension from AMU.
