Srinagar: JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik who is in police custody from 2nd October 2018, in his message to media has said that Manan Bashir Wani represents the soul and passion of our struggle for dignity and freedom and though the loss of such a scholar is too painful for Kashmiri nation but a matter of pride too.

In a statement issued from detention, Malik said that Kashmiri youth have been pushed to wall by Indian state that provided no space for peaceful dissent to them and hence pushed them towards the path of ultimate sacrifice.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of a party said that JKLF leaders and activists today managed to gather at Lal Chowk and staged a protest against unrelenting killing spree, arrests and also against ongoing ‘municipal election drama’.

“While paying homage to martyrs, protesters asked people to stay away from municipal election drama being staged in Jammu Kashmir,” the spokesman said.
