Bandipora: Police have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the alleged murder of a mother of three kids who had died of burn injuries under mysterious circumstances in Ahamsharief village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Senior superintendent of police, Zulfikar Azad said that they have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case.

He said that the team is being headed by a DySP rank officer and two other police officials.

Rehana Gulzar, 31, had received serious burn injuries at her in-laws home on October 06 in Ahamsharief village. She subsequently succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Srinagar on October 07.

Gulzar was working as FMPHW in Bandipora health department.

Her family members and colleagues alleged that she was burnt alive by her in-laws at their home.

Her in-laws have, however, claimed that Gulzar committed suicide.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid Wani has demanded a high level probe into the incident saying, it has shocked all the people of district.
