Budgam: A green Chinar tree- believed to be more than 70-years-old, suffered damage in a fire incident here at Safdar Mohalla on Sunday.
Eye witnesses told Kashmir Images that fire broke out from haystack placed on Chinar at around 2 pm and left septuagenarian tree partially damaged.
They said that fire tenders from Fire and Emergency department Budgam reached the spot and doused the flames.
The cause of fire, according to residents of Safdar Mohalla was nearby bonfire. “The haystack on Chinar caught fire from the bonfire, resulting in damage to tree.”
