The protesting women workers  urged upon authorities to interpret and implement SRO16 of 2004 in the light of judgment passed  by High Court in the case of Kounser Jabeen v/s State which states that in terms of SRO 16 the graduate Aanganwadi workers and matriculate Aanganwadi workers constitute  two different feeding categories  for the promotion as Supervisors.

The protesting candidates alleged that the matriculate Aanganwadi workers who have attained graduation qualification during service should figure in the seniority list of Graduate Aanganwadi workers only from the date of obtaining degree of graduation and their seniority is to be reckoned as graduate Aanganwadi workers only from the date of obtaining degree as the rule of engagement itself having created two classes of Aanganwadi workers viz graduates and matriculate Aanganwadi workers.

They further alleged that some vested interest officials want to adjust some blue eye candidates so the seniority list was framed in violation to standing rules and norms.

The protestors later called off their protest peacefully after submitting memorandum to ADC Kupwara who assured them justice.
