Lack of basic facilities leave players dejected in final of Khelo-India football match in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Oct 03: Thanks to the casual approach of organizers, footballer players were left dispirited in the final of Kehlo-India football match played at physical education college ground on Wednesday here.

Footballer players said a player was injured during the match and there were no facilities of first aid available during the macth.

Players said we were exhausted in the first half and were dehydrated, to our dismay we were not even provided water at half time.

A football coach said how can be the organizers so non-serious about the safety of players? First aid is very important in a football game and it is very unfortunate that player were not provided drinking water on time.

The coach said, “It is mockery of football game. Teams were forced to play two matches in a single day and it seems the sports initiative is a failure here.”

The final match of Khelo-India block Ganderbal was played between FC Ganderbal and FC Red lions.

When contacted DC Ganderbal he said that he will take cognizance of the complaint.

Part of ‘Khelo India’ initiative District youth services and sports is organizing various sports  competition in the district.
