Baramulla: Thirty eight candidates have filed their nomination papers in Uri and Sopore town for the third phase of municipal polls to be held on 13th October in Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources in election cell said that 32 nominations papers were filed in Uri on Saturday in which Congress has filed 13; BJP 5 and 14 candidates are independent to contest the elections.
In Sopore town, eight candidates filed their nomination papers in which seven are from BJP, and one candidate is an independent, sources said.
Sources further said that two women from BJP party will contest election in Sopore town.
Pertinently, earlier this week 40 candidates filed their nomination papers in Baramulla town for the first phase of municipal polls to be held on 8th October in Jammu and Kashmir.
