SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: The Secretary to Government Floriculture Department, Mohammad Javed Khan today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Floriculture Department.

The meeting was attended by Director Floriculture Mathoora Masoom, Deputy Directors’ Nazir Ahmad Reshi and Naseer Ahmad Hussaini besides Floriculture Officer’s and other officials.

During the meeting, Secretary Floriculture emphasized upon officials to bring innovations in the floriculture sector to make it more attractive for people especially youngsters, who want to earn a livelihood from it. He said that the aim of the department is to push commercial floriculture to newer heights by helping growers in farming as well as marketing.

Stressing on the time-bound completion of floriculture projects he asked officials to ensure that all the projects and developmental works are completed within the stipulated time to pave way for newer initiatives.

He directed them to ensure visitor’s book is kept in every park and garden so that the department gets feedback from the visitors and lacunae if any can be identified and redressed.
