Budgam: The forces on late Friday night raided a local cable office here and allgedly took away some equipments from the place.
The incident took place in the dead of night at around 1 am when troopers allegedly broke lock of a local cable office, before owner could reach there after being informed by one of his neighbour, local sources said.
The equipments that are missing from the cable office  include laptops, mobile phones, set-top box and hard drive, they added.
Sources said that army raided the cable office only to seek footage of Muharram processions in which freedom slogans were raised.
Sources privy to the incident told Kashmir Images that army men from the nearby camp were seeking video in which pro-Kashmir slogans were raised by the Shia Muslims.
The incident has sparked outrage among locals of Budgam, saying “where is the freedom of speech and expression?” Where is the night raid in the constitution?
Others said that at least forces should have not resorted to night raid during Ashura night.
Meanwhile, according to locals, it is after a long time there has been a night raid in Budgam township.
When contacted Station House Officer Budgam, Rafi Shah said, “They (Army) have not taken anything. It was their normal exercise.”
