NCC Inaugurates Swachhata Hi Sewa Pakhwada

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18: An inaugural function of “Swachhta hi Sewa”, was organized at NCC Group Headquarters, Gogji Bagh, Srinagar in which 03 Officers, 10 ANOs, 20 PI Staff and 230 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges of Srinagar NCC Group participated and pledged to ensure clean and healthy society through cleanliness drive.

Chief Guest of the function, Brig R G Patil, Group Commander, Srinagar NCC Group, while addressing the function, motivated the cadets to become ambassadors of change and make the entire society aware of the importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He further expressed that youth play a major role in any social campaign and NCC fraternity have greater responsibility towards changing the mindset of people on the cleanliness issues.

He said that NCC has footprint in entire Kashmir valley with more than 10,000 cadets from Institutions covering all Ten Districts. The NCC institutions are going to participate in Swachhta Pakhwada from 15 Sep to 02 Oct 2018 wholeheartedly in which large number of activities such as Mass Awareness Rallies, Nukad Nataks, Shramdaan, Wall Paintings, Cleanliness Drive, Cleaning of Public Parks, Awareness Rally, Seminar, Cleaning of Hospitals etc will be carried out by the cadets during the fortnight. The Pakhwada will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti, 02 Oct 2018.
