DGP enquires about welfare of injured officers, jawans at SMVD Narayana Hospital

JAMMU: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today visited Kakriyal where he visited the Shri Mata Viashno Devi Narayana Hospital and police post Kakriyal.

A statement issued by police said that the DGP went to the hospital and enquired about the welfare of Police officers and Jawans who were injured in the encounter at Kakriyal a couple of days ago. He complemented the injured personnel for their bravery and assured all assistance will be provided. He thanked hospital authorities and impressed to provide best health facilities to injured personnel.

Later the DGP visited the place of encounter and interacted with villagers and thanked them for their cooperation, said the statement.

He also met the police personnel and Jawans who fought in the operation in which three militants were killed. The DGP informed that the Governor Satya Pal Malik and Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh have praised the police army and CRPF for their contributions.

IGP Jammu, S.D Singh Jamwal  DIG Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta,  SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal and  SP Katra, Naresh Singh briefed the DGP regarding the operation by the different parties.

DGP complimented all the officers, Jawans and praised their work, and action for successful and clean operation, which was spread in vast area. He assured them that they will be duly awarded.

Later at Jammu DGP held an interaction with the media persons which was attended by the media persons from the National and Local TV channels, Newspapers.

Speaking on this occasion the DGP said that media has played a great role in highlighting the achievements of the J&K Police. He assured the media that steps will be taken for providing information promptly to them, added the statement.
