Toilets in main chowk Budgam dysfunctional

Budgam, Sep 13: In absence of water facility, the three toilet points here in the main chowk are lying dysfunctional from last two months and people here are holding Municipal Committee Budgam (MCB) responsible for it.

The shopkeepers, vendors and commuters who are up in arms MCB said that there are only three toilet points in the main chowk which are non-functional. They said that their plight is being neglected and concerned authorities have failed to resolve the issue.

Mohammad Ashraf, a shopkeeper said, “MCB was apprised umpteen times by the locals about the dysfunctional toilet facility but to no avail.”

A vendor, Nasir Hussain added that hundreds of people would use public convenience here but nowadays there is no water facility and people have to struggle.

“Water connectivity will make toilet points functional. However, MCB seems to be uninterested.”

When contacted, Executive Officer MCB, Syed Nayeem Rizvi, he said, “The basic source of water has less pressure and we would try to provide direct water connectivity to toilet points.”
