Jammu: Two militants were killed in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in Katriyal forests of Jammu on Thursday.
A senior police officer while confirming the killing of two militants said that militants had recently infiltrated from Samba, Bobiyan through International Border.
Three suspected militants who were travelling on a truck slipped into the forests after they were intercepted by the forces yesterday morning.
Soon, a massive search operation was launched and a high alert was sounded in the region.
Today morning, contact was again established with the militants. “Firing is going on from both sides,” said an official.
Meanwhile, eight forces’ personnel, including SDPO Nagrota, were injured in the gunfight that broke out early today in the forest area.
