Literary conference, Mehfil-e -Mushaira organized in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 12   Maraz Adbi Sangam in collaboration with JKAACL and Radio Kashmir organized one-day literary conference and Mehfil-e-Mushaira at Dak Bungalow here today.

During the conference, speakers paid rich tributes to the literary contribution of Prof Shad and his poetry in Kashmiri, Urdu and Persian.

Speakers also deliberated on the literary contribution of Naji Munnawa, Ayoub Sabir and Raja Yousuf.

Welcoming the guests, Murtaza Shibli, gave a brief overview of Shad’s poetry. The patron of Maraaz, Aijaz Laloo, read a paper on Shad’s Persian poetry and the breadth of his linguistic marvels.

Other speakers also spoke on Prof Shad’s rich contributions towards literature and academic contribution to literary criticism and research pursuits.

Noted litterateur Naji Munawwar delivered the presidential address.

Maraaz Adbee Sangam felicitated noted writers Naji Munawwar and Ayub Sabir for their contribution towards Kashmiri language and literature. Munawwar was given Shan-e-Maraaz 2018 award while Sabir’s latest book ‘Phaeur pew aenus sapdev ghan’ was awarded as the best book. Raja Yusuf’s historical narrative drama, ‘Wyeth’ was released amid great appreciation.

Later, a Mehfil e Mushaira was conducted in which poets from south Kashmir including Zahid Mukhtar, Ali Shaida, Nisar Nadeem, Nadim Shoki, Muzaffar Dilbar, Riyaz Anznoo, Riyaz Khaki, Javaid Sagar, Maqbool Veray, GM Ashti, Ayoub Sabir, Raja Yousuf, Nighat Sahiba Dr. Shaida, Riyaz Anznoo, Izhar Mubashir, Yousuf Jahangir, and many others mesmerized the audience with their poetic verses.
