Food safety team challans restaurants for poor hygienic condition

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 01: A team of Food safety department has challaned various prominent city restaurants for unhygienic conditions and not maintaining the norms as per FSSA 2006 during its three day drive.

Samples of Cooked food articles were also lifted by the team for analysis.

The team led by Dr.Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Jammu along with Food Safety Officers inspected food establishments along with kitchens of Jammu Club, Press Club, Amar Singh Club Restaurants. On finding unhygienic conditions, and not and not maintaining the norms as per FSSA 2006 the team  challaned   Restaurants of Press Club and Jammu Club.

Team also conducted inspections of Hotel TRG, Imperial Grill, Nox Café, Lemon Tree and challaned Imperial Grill Restaurant under unsanitary/unhygienic conditions.

The team also organized a one day awareness camp for food business operators in the same area wherein large participants were taught about the hygienic ways of cooking, processing, serving and storage food articles.

Later team also conducted inspection at Fruit Mandi and lifted samples of fruit and vegetables to detect the fruit ripeners used if any. The vendors were awared about the norms of FSS Act 2006 and asked to serve better quality of fruit and vegetables to all the customers.
