151 illegal clinics sealed across Kashmir

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29: On the directions of Divisional Commissioner, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has sealed 151 illegal and un-authorized clinics across the valley.

In Baramulla district 66 illegal clinics were sealed while as in Budgam district 37, Shopian 09, Kupwara 03, Anantnag 09, Kulgam 13, Pulwama 05, Srinagar 03 and in Ganderbal district 06 illegal and un-authorized clinics were completely sealed.

This was revealed in a meeting to review the progress of the sealing drive. The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan.

Consequent upon the daily reports received by the Divisional Commissioner office regarding the operating of un-authorized clinical establishments in different areas across Kashmir Division, Div Com directed all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) to constitute teams comprising of members from Health Services and Revenue department to conduct inspection of all clinical establishments.

He further directed them to take necessary action against such establishments which were operating in violation of rules, norms, laws and without licences or were run by persons not competent to run such establishments in all districts. Also send the daily basis report to the Divisional Commissioner’s office for further course of necessary action, he further directed.

Div Com reiterated that government is committed to provide better health care facilities to the people across the valley including Leh and Kargil districts.

Joint Director of Health Services, all Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers, Assistant Commissioner, revenue officials and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
