DDC Kulgam launches Sports Action Plan 2018-19

KULGAM, AUGUST 25: DDC Kulgam Dr Shameem Ahmad Wani today launched sports action plan 2018-19, under “Khelo India”, programme in Police stadium H C Gam Kulgam.

Giving details of the event, District Youth Services and Sports Officer said that in this event total 80 teams will participate in cricket tournament and same number of teams will participate in other major games which include volleyball, football, Kabbadi, athletics and other games and the event will continue for two months in the district.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that the event, which organized by DYSSO Kulgam, is meant for all round development of the youth of the district.

He also added that sports infrastructure in district will be developed on modern lines to provide best play fields to the youth of district and 116 play fields have been identified and will be developed soon for sports activities which includes 16 mini-stadiums.

DDC also urged the youth for active participation in all sports activities for their all-round development.

ADC, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, ACR, Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, CPO, DSP Headquarters, and other officers and officials of education department besides them a large number of students were present on the occasion. The two-month long sports feast started with a cricket match between HSS Malvan and HSS Chawalgam.
