Closing ceremony of smart phone film making courses

Srinagar, 13 August 2018:    Film and Television Institute of India (FTIl) Pune, the premier film education institute of the country, conducted two back to back courses in Smart Phone Film Making for the youth of Baramulla.

It provided an excellent opportunity for the talented young boys and girls of Kashmir to learn movie making using their smart phones. The courses were conducted from 21 July to 30 July and 01 August to 10 August 2018 with the help of the Himalayan Brigade under the aegis of Army’s Dagger Division, a statement issued by Army said.

After the successful conduct of screen acting course the training faculty of FTII coached 52 youth, having a flare for movie making, for the first time outside the institute. These young participants were between the age groups of 15 to 35 years, said the statement.

The intense 10 days course on Smart Phone Film Making was conducted under able mentorship of Anirban Dutta and Sanyukta. The highly qualified instructors devised a unique teaching and approach for the course involving students getting hands-on exposure and taking them through the practical aspects.  The course was conducted under FTII’s outreach programme called Skiling India in Film and Television, which has short courses at the beginner’s level. The Smartphone Movie Making Course received an overwhelming response from the participants.

The participants were given a chance to screen the movies made by them and to share their experiences during the closing ceremony. The children captivated the audience attention with entertainment programmes.

The event attended by Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division. dignitaries from civil and district administration besides senior Army and Police Officers were also present.

Speaking on the occasion the General Officer congratulated the participants of both the courses and thanked FTIl for organising the courses for the youth of Baramulla. He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment in supporting local talent and urged the youth to make use of such opportunities to hone their skills and equip themselves with the latest technology thus nurturing their talent and creativity with the assistance of modern technology. The event culminated with distribution of certificates to the qualified participants and a vote of thanks.
