ANANTNAG: Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Thursday held the second meeting of its Customer Care Town Hall series at its Zonal Office in Anantnag, bringing together around 150 customers, branch managers and senior officials to discuss service delivery, grievance redressal and safe digital banking.
The meeting was chaired by General Manager (Customer Care) Narjay Gupta in the presence of General Manager and Divisional Head (Kashmir) Arshad Qadri and Chief Risk Officer Altaf Hussain Kira. Zonal Head (Anantnag) Khavar Meraj Handoo, other senior officials and branch managers from the zone also attended.
Customers shared their experiences, raised concerns about banking services and sought clarity on grievance redressal mechanisms and the safe use of digital banking channels. The discussion also covered mule accounts and the risks of allowing others to use personal bank accounts for receiving or transferring funds.
Gupta said direct interaction with customers and branch managers helped the bank identify gaps in its processes and improve services at the branch level. He said the initiative aimed to make banking simpler, safer and more responsive.
Bank officials stressed that customer grievances should be resolved within prescribed turnaround times and that customers should be kept informed at every stage.
A resource person from Cyber Police Anantnag also delivered a presentation on cyber fraud, explaining ways to identify and prevent online scams and precautions to follow while using digital banking services.
The bank plans to extend the town hall series to all its zonal offices across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and other parts of the country, with schedules and venues to be communicated to customers in advance.
