The project is being executed by the Public Works Department’s (PWD) Roads and Buildings (R&B) Division, Sopore, under the Capex Budget 2026–27 at an estimated cost of ₹196.77 lakh.

The proposed double-storey building will cover a plinth area of 2,233 square feet and comprise two shopping halls, a washroom, an office, a kitchen, a store and fencing of the land.

Reviewing the progress, Dar directed the concerned officers and executing agency to maintain high construction standards, adhere strictly to the approved design and technical specifications, and accelerate the pace of work to ensure timely completion.

He stressed regular monitoring and supervision at every stage, directing the authorities to ensure that the project was completed within the prescribed timeline without compromising on quality, safety and durability.

Emphasising the role of public infrastructure in strengthening local economic activity, the Minister said development projects must be implemented with transparency, accountability and a commitment to public welfare.

He said the Super Bazar, once completed, would provide improved commercial infrastructure, facilitate local traders and create better business opportunities for residents of Seelu and adjoining areas.

Senior officers of the Cooperative Department and other concerned officials accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
