Ganderbal: Ganderbal Police on Tuesday inaugurated a football tournament under the Civic Action Programme at the Government Physical College Stadium in Gadoora, with 16 teams from across the district participating.
The tournament was inaugurated in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, the principal of Government Physical College Gadoora and Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Ganderbal.
The opening match was played between Hamdaniya FC and Real Sports Kachan, with Hamdaniya FC registering a 2-0 victory.
According to police, the tournament aims to encourage youth participation in sports, promote sportsmanship and strengthen police-public relations.
The initiative is also intended to provide young players with a platform to showcase their talent and promote teamwork, discipline and unity through sporting activities.
