Chairing a meeting at the Circuit House, the DC stressed coordinated preparations and inclusive participation, calling for the involvement of students, youth, police personnel, NCC and NSS volunteers, ex-servicemen, Home Guards and other stakeholders.

He directed the District Youth Services and Sports Department and the District Social Welfare Department to facilitate the participation of persons with disabilities and members of the transgender community. Suitable arrangements, including a manageable distance of up to 100 metres wherever required, were to be made for participants with disabilities.

Police and Traffic authorities were asked to ensure route security, traffic regulation and smooth movement of participants at all three locations. The Health Department was directed to keep ambulances and medical teams ready and organise blood donation camps as part of the celebrations.

The Education Department was asked to ensure student participation and organise essay, quiz and other competitions in schools and colleges on the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The celebrations will also include the Unity Pledge and Signature Campaign, tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns in panchayats and municipal wards, and sports and cycling activities. Plantation drives will include sites dedicated to martyrs, while cleanliness drives will focus on Amrit Sarovar sites and heritage locations.

The DC directed departments to ensure adequate refreshments, dustbins, cleanliness and other logistical arrangements for the programmes.

The meeting was attended by SSP Pulwama, SP Awantipora, additional deputy commissioners of Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, and other district officers.
