SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Tuesday called on government departments to strengthen accountability mechanisms, ensure transparent service delivery and expedite the disposal of public grievances and pending vigilance matters.
Dulloo was speaking after administering the integrity pledge to administrative secretaries, officers and officials at the Civil Secretariat as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, being observed from October 26 to November 1 under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”.
He stressed that integrity and transparency must remain central to public administration and urged officers to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, impartiality and adherence to the rule of law.
The chief secretary also asked administrative secretaries and departmental heads to review pending vigilance matters proactively and take appropriate action in accordance with established rules and procedures.
He said public interest should remain paramount in administrative decision-making and reiterated the government’s stated policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.
The integrity pledge called for collective efforts by government institutions, citizens and private organisations to combat corruption and promote accountability in public life.
Vigilance Awareness Week aims to promote ethical conduct, strengthen public confidence in institutions and encourage public servants to uphold standards of probity and transparency.
Similar pledge-taking ceremonies and awareness activities are being organised across Jammu and Kashmir at divisional and district headquarters, public sector undertakings and educational institutions.
