SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Tuesday began Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 with an integrity pledge ceremony at its Corporate Headquarters, reaffirming its focus on transparency, accountability and ethical banking under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”.
Executive Director Sudhir Gupta administered the pledge to senior bank officials, including chief general managers, general managers, deputy general managers and assistant general managers. Divisional, zonal and cluster heads, along with other employees, participated virtually.
Gupta said public trust was fundamental to banking and that sustainable growth required transparent processes, fair decisions and accountability at every level.
He emphasised the need to integrate preventive vigilance into daily operations, urging employees to protect the bank’s resources, safeguard customers’ interests and translate their commitment to integrity into consistent action.
Through the pledge, employees committed themselves to ethical business practices, refraining from offering or accepting bribes, complying with relevant laws and promoting transparency and fairness in corporate governance. The pledge also highlighted grievance redressal mechanisms, whistle-blower channels for reporting fraudulent activities and the protection of stakeholders’ interests.
Earlier, Chief Vigilance Officer Bansi Lal Saini said an organisation-wide culture of vigilance depended on employees’ everyday decisions. He urged staff to remain alert, take responsibility for their actions and report wrongdoing.
General Manager (Vigilance) Hafeeza Rahim delivered the vote of thanks and said the pledge should guide employees’ conduct throughout the year.
She said the bank would organise an online quiz and an essay competition during the week to improve employees’ awareness of ethical practices, identify gaps in their understanding and encourage suggestions for strengthening integrity in the workplace.
