BUDGAM: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday inaugurated development projects worth around ₹9 crore at Dreygam and Palpora in Budgam district.
The projects include a bridge over Shali Ganga Nallah at Dreygam and a road project at Palpora, aimed at improving connectivity and transportation facilities in the area.
The bridge is expected to provide connectivity to dozens of villages and ease travel for students, patients, farmers, traders and daily commuters. The Palpora road project is aimed at improving access and providing safer and smoother transportation for residents.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rather stressed the importance of developing basic infrastructure in rural areas, saying improved connectivity was crucial for overall development.
Residents and representatives of several villages welcomed the projects, saying the bridge and road addressed long-pending demands and would benefit people across the area. They also urged the administration to take up other pending development works on priority.
