Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the annual sports day at Doon School Srinagar on Wednesday, with students participating in races, martial arts demonstrations, a march past and cultural performances.
The event featured competitions for boys and girls, showcasing students’ athletic skills and participation in extracurricular activities.
Abdullah presented awards to meritorious students and school houses in recognition of their achievements and participation. He encouraged students to pursue sports alongside academics, highlighting the role of physical activities in promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy competition.
Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Sonawari MLA Hilal Akbar Lone, Khan Sahib MLA Saifuddin Bhat, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmed Wani, Doon School Srinagar Chairman Showket Hussain Khan, the school principal and other officials attended the event.
