Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan on Sunday directed officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Banihal to coordinate with residents and ensure completion of work on the Shabanwas-Bankoot road stretch up to Government Degree College.
The direction came during the deputy commissioner’s public outreach visit to areas adjoining Banihal, where residents of Shabanwas raised concerns over road connectivity, electricity supply, drinking water and other essential civic amenities.
Khan heard the grievances and interacted with the concerned officers to assess the issues and identify measures for their resolution. He directed the departments concerned to initiate follow-up action on matters falling within their jurisdiction.
Emphasising the need for direct public interaction, the deputy commissioner called for greater accountability and improved delivery of public services, particularly in remote areas.
He also directed officials to ensure that genuine public grievances were addressed through coordinated efforts within stipulated timelines.
The deputy commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, Tehsildar Deep Kumar and other officials.
