Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved the transfer of 671 kanals of land in Samba to the Industries and Commerce Department for developing a Plug and Play Industrial Park under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA).
The proposed industrial park is intended to provide ready-to-use infrastructure, essential services and streamlined approval processes to enable businesses to establish operations more quickly.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the initiative would help attract fresh investment, strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promote entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the project would also support balanced regional development and create employment opportunities for young people, while strengthening the Union Territory’s industrial ecosystem.
The Plug and Play model is designed to allow enterprises to begin operations using pre-developed industrial facilities and infrastructure, reducing the time and effort required to set up units.
