SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir Sartaj Ahmad Shah on Saturday inaugurated the sale of onion seedlings for farmers at the Seed Multiplication Farm in Gangbugh, aiming to facilitate timely transplantation and promote scientific cultivation practices.
The initiative is intended to improve farmers’ access to quality planting material and encourage onion cultivation as part of efforts to diversify crops and enhance agricultural productivity.
Shah stressed the importance of ensuring the timely availability of quality seedlings and strengthening field-level technical support to help farmers adopt improved cultivation practices.
The Agriculture Department said it would continue providing technical guidance and support to farmers to improve crop yields, increase farm incomes and promote sustainable agricultural practices across Kashmir.
