Senior officers briefed the DGP on operational preparedness, recent security developments, intelligence-gathering measures and steps being taken to maintain peace and security across J&K.

Emphasising inter-agency coordination, Prabhat called for seamless information sharing among district police, intelligence agencies and other security forces. He directed officers to intensify patrolling, strengthen area domination and undertake focused operations based on actionable intelligence.

He also stressed the use of technology to improve surveillance, situational awareness and response capabilities. Officers were asked to maintain heightened vigilance in border areas, closely monitor sensitive locations and coordinate efforts to prevent infiltration and other security threats.

The DGP also called for stronger engagement with local communities to build trust and encourage timely sharing of information. He stressed effective use of the tenant verification application and directed officers to maintain updated digital records of tenants and their verification status.

On police administration, Prabhat directed senior officers to conduct frequent inspections of police stations to check official records, cleanliness and upkeep of premises, and the welfare and living conditions of personnel. He also emphasised discipline, punctuality, professional conduct and operational readiness at all levels.

The DGP further directed Traffic Police to intensify enforcement against violations, ensure compliance with traffic regulations and take appropriate action against offenders. He stressed sustained efforts to improve road safety, ensure smoother traffic movement and minimise inconvenience to the public.

The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including the Special Director General of Police, Coordination, Police Headquarters; Additional Directors General of Police, CID and Armed; Inspector Generals of Police of Kashmir and Jammu zones, Railways, Security, Traffic, Crime, Cyber Crime and other wings; range deputy inspector generals; district senior superintendents of police; and other officers from across the Union Territory.
