Srinagar: Kashmir Police Chief Sujit Kumar on Thursday felicitated Srinagar Police for busting an organised inter-state narcotics network, officials said.
Eight people were arrested, and huge quantities of narcotic substances, cash, gold and other valuable assets worth crores of rupees were recovered as a team of Srinagar Police busted the network operating in Srinagar.
Kumar, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, felicitated the team led by SSP Srinagar G V Sundeep Chakravarthy. It included Zonal SP Showkat Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Junaid Wali, and others.
The investigation also exposed inter-state linkages and financial channels associated with the organised drug-trafficking network, officials said.
The IGP appreciated the professionalism, dedication and sustained investigative efforts of the Srinagar Police team, and encouraged the officers to continue their determined action against organised crime and narcotics trafficking, they said.
