Srinagar: Police in Budgam have recovered a bag containing medicines and food items from the Palmaidan area of Doodhpathri, where Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hashim Moosa was killed in an encounter with security forces on September 29, officials said on Sunday.
According to police, the recovered items are suspected to have been meant for the killed terrorist. Officials said the recovery is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation into Moosa’s presence in the area and the alleged support network that may have assisted him.
Police said investigators are looking into the origin of the consignment, how it came to be placed at the location, and the possible involvement of overground workers, co-conspirators and other alleged associates.
Officials said efforts are underway to identify individuals who may have provided logistical support and to determine their role in the case.
The September 29 encounter took place following a security operation launched on the basis of intelligence inputs. Police said the latest recovery forms part of the investigation into FIR No. 181/2026 registered at Khansahib Police Station under relevant sections of law.
Further investigation is in progress, officials added.
